DUSTINguishing Neighborhoods

In the heart of Studio City is a neighborhood even the most seasoned Angelenos may have a hard time identifying. The Silver Triangle is a pocket of Los Angeles that rivals any of the best places to live in Los Angeles proper. Comprised of approximately 400 single-family homes, this epic hood is geographically positioned just South of Ventura Boulevard, between Whitsett Street and Laurel Canyon. When looking for an area in Los Angeles to call home, your options truly abound. Not often though, does a neighborhood check off all the crucial boxes, offering buyers the ultimate tremendous value they seek.

The Silver Triangle boasts everything one could want in a neighborhood. The highly regarded restaurants, bars, and shops, along with the epic Sunday farmers market, are just a small sampling of the entertainment options just a short walk from residents front door. Additionally, with an Equinox Fitness scheduled to open in 2020 at the old Sportsman’s Lodge, life in this pocket of LA is truly on the up and up. Incredible public and private schools like Carpenter Elementary and Campbell Hall are close by as well. If you love the outdoors, Fryman Canyon is an amazing oasis for any aerobic activity. The vibes here are more “chill” than West Hollywood, which sits just a mere 5 miles “over the hill.” Fryman Canyon is the “valley side” equivalent of Runyon Canyon but without all the selfies and tourists who visit just to say they “hiked in LA.”

As most Angelenos would agree, Los Angeles has many amazing qualities (except for the traffic and affordability!). I would certainly second that sentiment. Nowhere is the real estate adage, “location, location, location,” more applicable than in Los Angeles. Equally applicable to real estate in Los Angeles is, “cheap things have no value, and valuable things are not cheap.” Owning property here may not be inexpensive but it is certainly valuable.

I constantly find myself feeling grateful that I get to call Los Angeles my home, especially when I visit other parts of the world. It’s funny though, when I meet people in my travels, they love to ask me how I could possibly live in a city with such bad traffic. I politely smile and respond the same way each time, “our traffic is about as bad as your weather.” I mean “c’mon, that’s all you can ask me about The City of Angels?” We average 284 sunny days per year, 71 more than the national average. Luckily, the weather is not the only redeeming quality that makes one realize how truly special it is to live and own property in Los Angeles.

Fortunately, areas like The Silver Triangle offer a more reasonable level of “affordability.” To paint a clearer picture, this unique area of Los Angeles can save a buyer upwards of 20-30% compared to properties in many other popular neighborhoods. The only other thing a buyer could ask for is that it doesn’t rain the day they decide to move into their beautiful new home. Likely, odds are in their favor though, since it only “rains” here 13% of the time.
