Anxious Female

I always knew I would start my own business. The entrepreneurial spirit was in my bones. Whether out of stubbornness, or a need for freedom, I refused to be limited by a glass ceiling or to dread Monday’s because I hated my job. I definitely didn’t want to work for the man. I didn’t want to work within the confines of a 40-hour work week, where a predetermined dollar amount was exchanged for my time. Something may have taken me 10,000 hours to master, and I can now perform this skill within 15 minutes. I prefer to create financial transactions that reflect the experience received.

I’m a firm believer that my professional success is parallel to the depth of my personal development. We’re limited in our businesses by fear, self-doubt, indecision, unworthiness, lack of creativity and risk taking, all areas that we can change and improve upon, if we dedicate ourselves to our personal growth. I’ve leaned into starting before I’m ready, allowing my first drafts to be messy with the knowing that experience is how we evolve, not by the fixation of perfection.

Anxious Female, a digital coaching platform for women to heal anxiety and trauma, was formed in early 2019, and began as a blog where I shared pieces of my story. Prior to the formation of my business, I obtained my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Psychology and chose not to become a licensed therapist, against the advice of many people. The blog grew into a space where I was coaching and connecting with women around the world, combining my education and personal experience, and teaching what I had needed the most during my deepest sufferings.

Today, Anxious Female offers 1:1 coaching experiences, listening circles and group coaching programs, and I continue to produce content and resources on my blog and social media platforms. I’m so excited for the future launch of a product line to support women in their self-care rituals, a digital e-course, and to host a monthly in person intimate dinner with female keynote speakers.

While I don’t think we need to make our every passion a business, I hope every woman gives herself the permission to work for something she believes in. I feel grateful that my path has given meaning to my past, that I get to connect and witness women in their transformations, and that I’ve had many female mentors who have led the way. When women support women, powerful manifestations take place.
