It’s a man’s world but I’m proud to be a woman. Women have to prove themselves. It’s almost a requirement that we have thick skin. We are conditioned to compare ourselves to other women. We need to be undoubtedly clear on our goals, so that we not only build the life we want at home with our families, but don’t miss out on career opportunities.

You can have children, a marriage, close family and friends, and a career. I’ve worked incredibly hard to create an imperfectly balanced home and work life that fulfills me and allows me the privilege of being a role model to younger women.

I began in the culinary and hospitality industry in 2003. At, first unable to obtain employment in a front-of-house serving position in LA, I ultimately landed a summer gig with a catering company. I later secured a job as a pastry chef at the renowned Spago in Beverly Hills, and finally was hired as a server while abroad in Australia. These experiences paved the way for my attendance at the culinary school Le Cordon Bleu and employment at Boulevard in San Francisco. Now that I had the education and hands on experience in the industry, I wanted business credibility, so I acquired my MBA in business from USC and made my way back to LA.

While navigating school I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, needing a thyroidectomy, followed by radioactive iodine treatment. My journey through cancer was a reminder that life is short and there is nothing one can’t overcome or handle. I walked away with resiliency and determination.

Meanwhile, I wasn’t going to miss a huge opportunity when presented with one. A well-known food brand recalled all their cookie dough because people were hospitalized with e.coli from eating it raw. I realized then that edible cookie dough had not yet hit the market.

I put my obsession for all things sweet, my fancy culinary degree, and my years of pastry chef experience to work to solve this problem. After taste-testing dozens of batches per flavor and tweaking hundreds of ingredients at home in my kitchen, Edoughble was born.

With Edoughble, we not only wanted to make edible cookie dough, but to make it 100% better in every way. Better ingredients. Better small-batch production. 100% safe recipes.

We now have a team of 12, we are in 800 grocery stores, we have an online store, we ship nationwide and we have a brand-new storefront in LA!  While 2020 has been about survival, we’re making changes to our business to do what we can in order to operate lean and explore new opportunities.

Planning has been a huge part of my success. I made long and short term goals and then reverse engineered them back to the present and focused on the small steps I could take right away. I focus on controlling the controllables.

When something would go wrong in my business, I initially would feel like a victim.  After sharing my experiences, I have found that things go wrong in all businesses all the time. No one has an obstacle free path. The more I lean into learning and letting go of judging, I am able to bring empathy to my work and my team. No one’s time is more valuable than the next person, and I aspire to always ask questions, to listen, and to show respect.

Edoughble’s edible cookie dough will make all your dessert dreams come true.
