You vs. Yourself

My name is Tim Machado, and I am a NESTA certified personal trainer. I want to help you successfully reach your health and fitness goals in a safe and approachable way this year. At the mere age of eight, I suffered a severe elbow injury that was undetected by my physician at the time. I lived with the discomfort in my elbow for five more years until a baseball coach of mine attempted to correct my throwing mechanics. When my form and power didn’t improve and actually began to deteriorate, I was encouraged to have my elbow re-examined. It was then determined that my elbow did in fact break at the growth plate many years back. I was given the option of surgery to correct the break or to wait until the plate finished growing. While I ultimately ended up having surgery a decade later, the initial break caused floating bone fragmentation and a reduced range of motion in my elbow. The doctors predicted I wouldn’t be able to ever workout again, even after physical therapy. I took matters into my own hand. I built my own rehabilitation program and now workout free of pain. I changed my lifestyle and implemented the motto that nutrition is medicine. 

So why do I tell you this story? I want you to know that I very much understand the difficulty of navigating injuries and setbacks. I am passionate about helping you turn your pain into your strength, and preventing injuries from the start.
